I used to be very good at someday. I had a long list of things I wanted to do and an even longer list of reasons why now was not the time. The house, the kids, the money, the learning. There was always one more thing to finish first.
Then I started watching the years go by. I noticed I was not any closer to the things on that list, and the reasons had not changed either. They had just been handed down to a slightly older version of me.
Someday really hit home when my partner was given six to nine months to live. We sat with the fact that someday might not show up at all. After that I could not keep filing my own life under later, and I had to get honest about what actually mattered and what I was only pretending to care about.
Through emotional clearing I saw what had been going on the whole time. Putting something off until someday is usually not a scheduling problem. Most of the time it is fear winning quietly. You can move while you are still afraid, and that is exactly what we practice in this workshop.
